Just to change things up a little and to improve my quick sketching skills I decided to participate in the "Every Day in May" challenge. The idea is to draw a different predetermined subject each day in May and then post your work to the Facebook page and/or the Flickr page of the group. It is fun to see all of the different interpretations of the subject each day.
Unfortunately, life gets in the way and I have missed about half of the 15 days so far. I am not going to let that stop me though. I am going to keep on going, attempting to make up the days I have missed before the end of the month. One thing I found right away was that it was really hard to post the first couple of drawings because they were not "finished." I quickly determined that if I was to accomplish this goal, I had to let go of ego and just draw!
Anyway, here are my first five drawings for the month.

EDM #16 Draw your Favorite Tool
It has been months since I've done any drawing so I thought I would warm up with an EDM (Every Day Matters) Challenge. So here is my rendition of "Draw your favorite tool." These are my flat-nosed pliers that I use for jewelry making along with a few strands of beads that eventually will be part of a multi-strand bracelet.

EDM Challenge #3 Purses, Bags or Totes
I finally finished this drawing and my reaction to it was unexpected. Although, technically it is pretty good, considering I have been away from my colored pencils for awhile, artistically it is somewhat flat. What I have learned once again is practice, practice, practice and that even our best ideas sometimes disappoint us in the end.
I also realized that I had not considered that the paper would be too big to fit on the scanner....so I did a couple of scans so you can see everything and am including a photo (a terrible photo) so you can see the whole drawing in one piece. I love learning new things, don't you!
