EDM Challenge #3 Purses, Bags or Totes

I finally finished this drawing and my reaction to it was unexpected. Although, technically it is pretty good, considering I have been away from my colored pencils for awhile, artistically it is somewhat flat. What I have learned once again is practice, practice, practice and that even our best ideas sometimes disappoint us in the end.

I also realized that I had not considered that the paper would be too big to fit on the scanner....so I did a couple of scans so you can see everything and am including a photo (a terrible photo) so you can see the whole drawing in one piece. I love learning new things, don't you!

I know what you mean about practice... if you don't use it you lose it sort of thing! Great looking drawing, and colored pencils? Wow!

Great job blending those colors together! What kind of colored pencils do you use?

Oh my goodness...I thought the top two were photos of your setup and the third was a photo of your sketch. Wow, very impressive!

Thank you, ladies, for the positive comments. To answer your question Patty, I use Prismacolor pencils.

Beautifully done, I couldn't guess you had used colour pencils, I thought it was watercolour: it's so smooth!

Lovely and smooth texture! Totally brought out the beauty and uniqueness of color pencils :)

I am crazy about your composition - it's terrific, as is your handling of the pencils for textures. If your page bothers you still, reconsider your shadow angles. I just really like what you've done here.
